Captain Ron Mullins – Owner
The Striper Experience is a Lake Lanier Fishing Guide service owned and operated by Ron Mullins. Ron is a licensed USCG Captain trained in first aid and CPR. Captain Ron has over 30 years of experience on the water and has vast experience in both saltwater and freshwater fishing. Working on a commercial fishing boat off the Florida coast helped Ron continue to hone his skills. He has fished Lake Lanier for over 25 years for all species but has a passion for striper fishing. Ron decided to transform his passion into a business to help guide others to their ultimate striped bass catch and started The Striper Experience in 2009. Ryan Armstrong
Ryan moved to the Lake Lanier area in 1999 and has been fishing Lanier ever since. He is married with three children who enjoy the outdoors. When not fishing, Ryan can be found hunting or finding insurance solutions for personal and commercial clients. He enjoys salt water fishing which is where his love for catching inland striped bass was developed.
Brent Hansen
Brent grew up in South Carolina spent many weekends fishing lake Hartwell with his family growing up. Brent’s passion for fishing has grown and finds joy in helping someone catch fish and make lasting memories. He started fishing for stripers on lake Lanier in 2007. Brent immerses himself in learning everything about striper fishing and prides himself on staying up to date on all the newest techniques and patterns.
Brent is also a licensed general contractor, specializing in deck building by trade. But his love for striper fishing lead him to begin guiding on Lake Lanier in 2014. Brent’s second largest striper to date was a 37 pounder caught on Lake Lanier in December 2021.
Josh Pile
As a vey young man Joshua acquired the passion for fishing with conventional tackle and fly-fishing. Through this passion he has ventured many uncharted waters that have now become charted through his journey’s. Among the vast variety of species Joshua has pursued are Tarpon, Bone Fish, Red Fish, Rooster Fish, Tuna, Trout and Striped Bass. On your excursion with Joshua you can expect a wealth of knowledge with patient instruction and guidance. You can expect your guide to have great sence of humor and be comfortably welcoming as everyday Fishing on the water is a blessed day had.
Joshua has been professionally guiding on Lake Lanier since 2001.
Logan Sheets
Logan is a passionate angler and guide. He is a North Georgia native raised along the banks of the Chestatee River and Lake Lanier. Guiding and fishing is in his blood. As a second-generation fishing guide, practically raised in a center console skiff, Logan has a legacy rooted in the outdoors & sport fishing, thanks to his father, Dale Sheets. Dale was a true pioneer & innovator in catching these elusive, hard-fighting fish. Dale started guiding folks on Lanier in the early 90s and Logan puts into practice everything his father taught him. Logan has risen up, aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps and continuously works on perfecting his craft.
Logan has fishing knowledge from around the country, from catching trout in high Sierra lakes at 12,000 ft. to jumping tarpon in the spectacular Florida Keys. When he is not chasing fresh water big game, he directs his focus Early/late fall as a big game guide & packer across the American West.
From acting quickly & effectively when the drag starts burning to trying new techniques when things slow down, he is determined to make sure you’re successful on the water. You can expect the utmost professionalism from Logan. His excitement is contagious. He has plenty of patience with new and young anglers and gives easy to understand explanations of our techniques and gear.
