Why anglers choose The Striper Experience
17+ years on Lake Lanier. Captain Ron Mullins has been guiding full-time on this specific lake since before most of our clients knew it existed. That means knowing where the fish go when the thermocline locks in at 45 feet in August, how they respond to a cold front in October, and which areas produce trophy fish in February when most guides aren’t on the water. You can’t substitute time on one body of water.
A full guide team, not a one-boat operation. The Striper Experience runs multiple boats with professional guides, each with deep Lake Lanier experience. For groups needing more than one boat, we coordinate a full fleet on the same water, same communication, same real-time fish-finding, same professional standard across every boat in the spread.
Every technique, every season. Spring topwater schooling, summer deep-water downlining, fall blowup action, winter trophy fish in the main channel — Lake Lanier produces stripers year-round and each season demands a different approach. We fish all of it and adjust presentation to match what the lake is doing on your specific day.
Everything included. All bait, tackle, rods, reels, and ice on every Lake Lanier striper fishing charter. No hidden costs, no gear to haul. Show up and fish.
What to bring on your charter
- Georgia fishing license (required age 16+) — buy online at gofishgeorgia.com before your trip. See our Georgia Fishing License Guide for details.
- Food and drinks. Water strongly recommended in all seasons.
- Weather appropriate clothing- layers in spring and fall, sun protection in summer, serious warmth in winter. Early mornings on the lake are significantly colder than the afternoon forecast.
- Sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.
- Camera or charged phone – you will want photos.
No experience necessary. Our guides coach first-timers through everything — rod handling, reading the bite, fighting the fish, and landing it. Kids are welcome and often the most enthusiastic anglers on the boat.
