April 27, 2026 Weekly Lake Lanier Striper Fishing Conditions

Water Temp: high 60’s to low 70’s

Clarity: Clear main lake. Creeks are slightly stained as you work towards the back. River arms are stained.

Lake Level: 1065.73 (5.27ft below full pool)

Weather Trend – It’s going to be a nice spring week with normal temperatures and some better chances of rain the middle of this week.  I’ll believe it when I see it.  We need rain bad.

What’s Working Right Now

Striper spawn is done.  There are a few males still running around in the open water, but the big girls are getting shallow.  The herring spawn is nearing its end, but the shad spawn is about to heat up.  Rocky banks and points will be the areas you want to focus on.  Northern reaches of the lake will see the shad spawn first as it warms into the mid 70’s first.  Boards and flat lines are still the best option but hang a couple of downlines off the front of the boat 20-30’ down.
